Black Bear
Newfoundland harbors some of the largest black bears in North America. Bears
in excess of 400 pounds are quite common but larger have been taken. With a
population of about 10,000 animals and low hunting pressure, the
chances of getting a bear are excellent. Most of our bear hunting is
done from baited stands
The fall hunt runs from mid-September to November. We also offer a spring hunt from mid-May to July with an optional fishing package.
